Ar an leathanach seo

  1. Sixty years go there were 23 houses in the village of Glantane and of these all were thatched except three which were slated and those three were the Police Barracks, the Protestant Schoolhouse, and the house which is now occupied by Mrs O'Connell.
    Four of those houses have been demolished and two new ones have been built - one by Mr Michael O'Connell and the other by Mr Timothy Cronin. Adjoining the latter is a small one roomed house which is used as a club by some young men of the village and the neighbourhood.
    One of the houses that has disappeared, stood in Mr Roche's field at the side of the avenue that leads to the Curate's house. An old lady, named Mrs Croke, lived in that old house about 50 years ago. She was never known to wear shoes or boots and was a welcome visitor at every house in the village.
