- In the old days there used to be a dance every Sunday evening and every Sunday night in the road near Doon Fort. Often in the Summer time the dancing continued until after 12 o'clock.
The people of Doon often heard sweet music coming from the fort also the sound of dancing This music could be heard for miles around and people stood at their doors listening to the music. White horses could be seen galloping through three gaps which are in the fort.
One night, the crowd of boys from the dance went to the fort and began to play the violin. The boys danced for a while, but all at once a whirlwind came which swept the violin out of the player's hand, and it stuck in the ground. The boys ran out and as the violinist was running he got a slap on the face from an unseen hand. and for the rest of his life the finger marks remained on his face. He got sick and he never got back(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
