- (continued from previous page)A cold door-key is put at the nape of the neck when the person lays flat on the ground. Sometimes a cold wet towel at the bridge of the nose when lying on the ground is successful.
- Cuts, bruises etc are prevented from festering by getting a dog to lick then and thus they will heal up very rapidly. Cream or butter is rubbed to the 'sore' and this will entice the dog to lick the part.
- A Head-Cold is successfully banished by boiling an onion in new-milk and adding a plentiful supply of pepper. Take before retiring at night.
- Muscular Pains and general fatigue and depression are overcome by eating a raw onion the first thing every morning.
- Sore-Lip is cured by rubbing a soft juicy dock-leaf (locally called 'dog-leaf') to the part and then leaving dock-leaf on it.
