  1. Patrick Enright of Britfieldstown, Minane Bridge was a famous old smith who made ploughs and plough parts and harrows.
    The OSullivans of Ballinaclashet, Kinsale made two kinds of ploughs, the swing plough and a smaller plough for sowing seed.
    One of these old ploughs is still in the possession of the Hurleys of Reagrove Minane Bridge

  2. A family named Goggin kept a forge in Mrs Lynch's field at Tubrid, Minane Bridge. This field is now known as páirc na ceardchan. They usually made plough parts.
    There was also a forge in Mrs Lynch's field near the priest's gate.

  3. The people had a holder for the rush lights made of wrought iron. Mr ONeill T.D. Kinsale, at the request of a friend, procured one of these holders from a house near Ballycastle, Co Antrim
    But in this district the end of the pádóg was bent up and inserted in the sconce
