    About a hundred years ago they were fighting in the warren in Pat Hurleys land in Gahanive and say that is why the red strand got its name. There was a Sullivan man digging for sand in the warren about 50 years ago and he saw the skull of a man the people say that they were people buried there. Tom Wren said that he often got bits of rags and buttons there when he was for sand.
