Told by Mary Keating Age 50 Hollyhill Aughadown
Long ago there lived in the town land of Hollyhill a family who held a dance in their house on November night.
About twelve o'clock in the night they were dancing and thought of nothing only their own fun. All of a sudden they heard a knock at the door and a mournful cry. Then somebody went to open the door and they could see nothing. The old man of the house told them to stop the dancing and say the Rosary and they would not but danced away. The same noise came to the door again. The old man then said The Lord have mercy on the souls and he insisted on their saying the Rosary. So they did and after that they had no more dances and they were not again disturbed.
