The leading man covered a distance of 50ft 02 ins, and Pat Lonney, who tied with another Competitor for second place, covered 49ft. 9 3/4 in. Pat Looney was also a member of the "Team of Gaelic Invaders" who went to the United States immediately after, and competed at Manhatten Club Grounds.
In a few years, Con Walshe of Carriganima came along, with the fifty six pound weight swinging from his Herculean arm. In his time he established no less than three World's Records with the missile which(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
