    The name of the townland I live in is Lissagallon. This is the parish of Oran. There are about thirty families in this townland. Kennedy is the name most common in this district.
    Most of the houses in this district are thatched. There are a good many old people in this district.
    There was a fort in this district and that is how Lissagallon got its name.
    The old people know a few words of Irish. There were more houses in this district in former times.
    There are a lot of ruins of old houses in this district. There was no family but somebody emigrated to England, America, Australia and many other foreign countries.
    This townland is not mentioned in song I know of. There is no wood or bog in this district.
    There are no lakes or streams in this district.
