- My District.
I live in the townland of Rathconnor and in the parish of Kilbride. The barony I live in is Ballintubber.
There are about twenty-five families in this district. The population is about ninety-one. The houses are thatched and slated. The name most common is Quigley.
Rathconnor got its name from all the forts that are in it. There are a good number of old people in it. Some of them are over eighty years.
There are the names Mrs Condoy, Mr P Mullin, Mrs Quigley, Mr K. Mullaney, Mrs Mc Donnell, Mrs Early, Rathconnor Roscommon.
There are ruins of an old house in this district. A number of people emigrated to America from this district.- Collector
