- The creatures which are most familiar and most interesting to observers in this country are undoutedly the Birds. This is of course because they are as a rule harmless and are allowed to live as they please become very numerous. There are so many birds in this district that it is impossible to describe all of them.
The most familiar of these are the Sparrow, Robin, Thrush, Blackbird, Wagtail, Goldfinch, Wren, Starling, Crow, Jackdaw, and Magpie.
Sparrow. Of all the above mentioned birds the sparrow is the boldest and sauciest. He stays in Ireland all the Winter. A curious fact about the Sparrow is that in Summer he leaves the garden and goes for a holiday in the open country.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
