  1. Sir Ross-Mahon was the landlord of Termonbarry. He was a very cruel man. He lived in this place till his death. He evicted people who paid their rent and took posession of their places. These people went to the poor house. It it were a big farm he would cut it up into small farms and get small houses built on them and charge high rents. Two families in Cloonmore were evicted. They gathered all the people of Cloonmore and had a battle with the landlord in which he was killed. That was about two hundred years ago.

  2. The Local landlord of Derryhanee was Mr. Ashley Lefavy. The family were settled in the district for over sixty years. When Mr. Ashley died his wife succeeded him. St married Mr. Langly Lefavy. He was succeeded by his nephew, Mr. Lefavy. They were very good landlords. They evicted some of the tenants. The evicted went out in the bogs and built themselves bog-houses, others went to America.
    Farms were sub-divided among two members of a family or marriage. Tithes were collected by the landlord or his agent from the heads of houses. They were collected both in money and in kind. Sometimes the people.
