a journey the people of the house always say, "God send you luck". When kindling the fire they say, " God keep us from the fires of purgatory."
When going to bed they say, "God Almighty keep me safe through the night". Always when raking the fire it is said, "God be blessed and praised and thanked" because it meant when the fire was raked no one was sick in the house. Another prayer I learned from my Granny was:
"O My God I love you. I desire to love you a thousand times more,
for every sand in the seashore,
for every drop of water in the ocean,
for every atom in the air,
for every leaf upon the trees,
for every blade of grass that grows.
I desire to love you with the love of the holy Angels, with the hearts of all the Saints and with the Immaculate Heart of the most Holy Virgin.
