magic caps. and fly over the county. The Leinster's were so delighted with their victory that they had a great feast, and drank whisky galore. While the merry-making was going on Tommy got up on a barrel, and fell asleep, where he was found next morning. (The Fairies had vanished earlier). The Mayor + nobleman of the town held a trial on him, and he was condemned to be hanged. All preparations were made, and he was being led to the scaffold, when he remembered his magic cap, which he had in his pocket. He put it on his head, and wished to be carried back to his father's hut, immediately he was hustled off on a "fairy blast," and when he arrived home he made a solemn promise never to cross the grassy mound or "Fairy Playground" again. His father told him he had been absent for a fortnight.
