Ar an leathanach seo
- About a hundred years ago there was no road running where the main road is running now. School used to be taught by the hedge which is down the walk from the school to the road. The master who taught there was Joseph Heavener, Inistioge. They had no seats and the pupils used to stand around in a class. A big flag laid up against the hedge was the blackboard, and the children used to write with slates.
Afterwards the master taught in the little house outside Clodiagh chapel. The master used to stay in the farmer's houses. The boys used not go to school until they were fourteen years of age. After that the master went to Inistioge and lived there. He taught for a while there. He is buried in Inistioge cemetery.
