passing the man sprang out & snatched the man on horseback down and inside the ring made by the holy water and the woman did the same for the girl on horseback. The fairies all gathered around & tried to take them all back to the fort but when they came to the holy water they had to stop. They kept at this until the cock crew & then they all disappeared.
The man and the girl were both restored to their people who were glad to receive them home once more
You may be sure that the man was never seen taking a drink after that and it is not know how the girl came to be in the fort. The people always avoided passing this fort late at night & if they were passing & heard the music you my be sure they were not curious enough to go into the fort but went hurriedly home.
