    'the Stokes' 'the O'Donnells' and 'the Grays.' The O'Donnell's and the Mongans most frequently visit this district, especially on the eve of a fair day, or a sports day. Travelling folk now-a-days tell no stories or bring any news, but long ago they used My mother told me about some travellers who used to visit the district in her time. One of them was the 'blind priest' who had to be led from house to house and who would take nothing only money. He used to tell stories and bring news from other parts of the country, and the people had great respect for him. He would bring water from Lourdes and he brought my grandmother a crucifix within a bottle. Another 'traveller' to her house was a Mary Anne McGinty who stayed there a night or two for several years, on her way to do a pilgrimage at Lough Derg
