  1. Bird Lore
The crow is the commonest bird in my district. She builds her nest in a tree-top and lays from four to six eggs. The weather can be judged according to the crow. When she flies high it is a sign of good weather and when she is seen on the wall it is a sign of rain. It is said that when Our Saviour was dying on the cross a robin came and picked the thorns from his head. A drop of blood fell on his breast and every robin has a red breast since that. When the swallow flies low it is a sign of bad weather and when it flies high it is a sign of good weather. When the white birds are on the land it is a sign of bad weather.
