   Each day the children of the district gathered together there, and they paid as much as they could afford, to the teacher, Mr OGara. Another man named Mr. Flanagan, taught there also.
   The ink that the children used was made from the juice of alder berries Those berries were pressed until all the juice had left them and then the juice was mixed with some black powder, which made it appear like ink. The seats they had were big stones, and each pupil sat on a stone, and formed a circle around the master.
   There was also a school in Killaraght, where the chapel is, at present. The teachers in it, were, Mr. Queenan, and Mr Knott. The subjects taught in it were; Irish, Arithmetic, and the history of Ireland.
