(continued from previous page)was the young women & girls who acted as collectors forty years ago. They then invited the young men to the dance. The girls were called "Biddy Girls".
Girls from this locality accompanied the boys this year (1936). They were the sisters of the boys & were anxious for a dance here & there & employed this subterfuge to get it!
