  1. There is an old story told about Lough Brin. One day the Fianna were hunting near Killarney and they started a fairy deer. The deer ran towards Kenmare. The hounds turned her along Kenmare Bay. All the hounds gave up but Bran. He ran after her to Lough Brin. She sprang into the lake. Bran jumped into the lake after her and was drowned. Finn called the lake Lough Brin which means Bran's Lake.
