  1. There was once a very rich man who had an only daughter who was good looking. Her father did not want her to marry any poor man. One evening as he was out walking he met her keeping company with a poor boy. Her father was very vexed at this and he told her that she should go to her uncle's house so that she could not meet this boy. The girl felt very sorry at this and told it to her boy and asked him to come to see her before the twelve months would be out.
    He promised to do so but he died in three months time. One night as she was in bed she heard
