    Kilkenny Marble City may you forever shine
    And wear the wreath of laurels most noble and sublime

    To welcome their Kilkenny boys at the setting of the sun.

    They wouldn't show dishonour for the gold of Erin's isle
    In honour of the Archbishop that raised this noble play
    The brightest start of Munster but lately passed away.

    When Limerick won at Jone's Road most powerful did they boast
    And how they beat Kilkenny and drove Walton through the post.
    With shouts and cries that reached the skies that night in Limerick town
    And the fishes raced to listen as the Shannon waves rolled down.
