- A small green plant that grows in shady corners of fields and ditches is a good cure for warts. It is called "Fairys Milk" because when any part of the plant is broken a white juice flows out . This juice if it gets into the eyes will blind. If this juice is rubbed to the wart every day the wart will gradually disappear.
If there is a swelling on the arm or leg, goose-grease if rubbed to it will cure it. Donkey milk if drunk will cure whooping-cough. If there is a corn on the foot, a big ivy leaf if placed on it will cure it. Strong pepper if shook on a rotten tooth, will cure tooth-ache. If a child had "Thrush" a duck's breath into his mouth will cure him.
A dock-leaf if rubbed to the place where a person is stung by a nettle is a cure for the sting. Castor oil is good for a sore ear.
