2. In the olden times, the bride and bridegrooms rode on horseback to the Chapel to be married. Many of their friends followed them, some on horse-back and more in cover-carts. When the marriage was over the friends threw rice on the newly-married couple as it was supposed to bring them good luck for the rest of their lives.
