Meade's land it is supposed to be built by the Danes. It is said that there is a square hole two feet long and two feet wide. The hole is running through Dam Kelleher's land and up straight to John Meade's house. There are several stories told about it and one is as follows.
One day two men went into the fort and they took a candle with them. They traveled fifty yards of the fort. According as they were advancing it was getting higher. Then they returned because half the candle was burned and they wanted the other half to bring them back the same distance. They said it was flagged all the way through at least as far as they had traveled
