- The following poem I think is not in print. I found it written in an old copy.In Kerry long ago.
I
Oh! then God be with you Kerry,
Where in childhood I played merry.
Listening to the fiddlers tuning up,
And resening their bows.
At the crossroads we were dancing,
With our colleens shyly glancing,
Just like their dads and mothers did,
In Kerry long ago.
II
Ah! my heart is sad and weary
In my dreams I see my Mary,
With her yellow tresses flowing,
On her cheeks the roses glow.
In my dreams I hear her singing,
With Tim Halpin's fiddle ringing,
As he played the "Stack O' Barley".
In Kerry long ago.
III
We'll go down to Mary Cleary's
With our hearts so light and airy,
At the churn we'll take our turn,
Till the butter overflows.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
