  1. There is a big quarry at the foot of the hill of Mc Hugh's field and it is supposed to be big enough to make roads for the the county. About 20 or 22 years ago it was a man called Johnston who lived there and one day he had liro men blasting in the quarry and the first blast they were putting off they timed fifteen minutes on their watches and it did not go off and they gave it fifteen minutes more and it didn't go off, and they thought it would not go off. They went over to look at it - and when they were on the face of it, - it went off and they were badly injured
    Mr Johnston came out and brought them in and sent for the doctor and they were cured and are alive yet.
