- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)Then there is a space of about three inches left and this space is called the "eye-holes". The rods are wattled and the creel is getting narrower until the two sides are about half-a-foot apart. Then four strong rods are pointed, and put down as far as possible in the wattling, and at each corner. The rods are bent over one another, and three or four rods are put on top of them. Then two rods are twisted like a rope, and the bottom rods are tied together with these. When the creel is finished tow rods are twisted and fixed in to the "bungs". There is a loop left, so as a man could catch hold of it and carry the creel. This part is called the "gad". There is a rope put through the "gad", and this rope is called the "rish"(?) and is used for putting over your shoulder when carrying the creel. The baskets and creels were made by:-
