- Once there lived a man called Tim O'Kelly, who lived near the mill Dam where Kavanagh's Bridge now stands. O'Kelly was a horseman employed by a gentleman, who after a time went to Belfast. O'Kelly returned home but his master sent for him.
On setting out the messenger and Kelly exchanged coats and as the messenger was the better walker he went to fetch a bag of turf to Mrs O'Kelly to Tim O'Kelly a start in the journey. He was drowned at the dam. The body was putrid when found and on account of O'Kelly's coat.
In Autumn the priest came to O'Kelly's cottage to collect the tithes. Mrs O'Kelly was poor and the priest suggested that she get married again. She agreed and married the priest's servant a boy called Nolan.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
