- We have a dash-churn at home. It is about two feet in height and one foot wide. The sides are round. It is twelve years old, and was made by a Cooper from Caltra.
In Winter butter is made only once a week, and in Summer it is made twice a week, because milk is very plenty during Summer.
My mother always does the churning. Strangers help to do the churning when they come in, because if they did not they would take the butter with them.
People know when butter is made when small lumps appear on the top(continues on next page)- Collector
