- There are eight families in my townland. The names most common are Hennigan and Flynns Most of the houses are thatched. There are old people in it two men and one old woman. The old woman knows a little Irish (a little) Irish, but the old men know none. Their names are James Cullen, Owen Culle, and Mrs peter Flynn ages ranging from 74 to 80 & 84
The houses were far more numerous long ago. Today the houses are few and the population is decreasing day by day.
Emmigration & poverty are the two main reasons.
