  1. St Bridget is our Patron Saint. There is a church built in Drumkeerin in her honour, and is it still standing it is not old. There are the ruins of an old monastery in Curagh’s. When the English came over to Ireland they destroyed the monasteries they tossed one at Burraghs, and killed some of the nuns who were living in it and it is said that some of their blood is still on the stones. There are no holy wells in this district
