People long ago went miles to get Roses, because they cured weak and inflamed eyes: My Grandmother did this and her eyes gave her no trouble after that. It was also said that the dandelion was good for the liver and the stomach.
People had great faith in ginger also. They made a compound of ginger and treackle for colds in the chest.
Red clover was supposed to be good for whooping cough and cancer. If they could not get the red clover they used violat leaves for cancer also.
People believed that the nettle cured pains in the side and blood troubles.
The daisy was used for removing swellings.
