    Ploughing
    There ploughing competitions held in different places around the village long ago. They were held in the fields of Blakestown, Macestown, Parslickstown and Hollywood. The fields in which the competitions were held in Macestown were "The Shoulder of Mutton" and "The Eight Acres". The competitions held in Hollywood were in Mrs Weldon's field. Two of the competitors were William Dempsey and Dominick Keating. Two of the prizes were "The McKenzie Cup" and "The Drummond Cup". Mr Carr of Parslickstown was the judge of the ploughing in Macestown.
    Football
    Football matches were held around Mulhuddart long ago. They were held in Carr's lawn in Parslickstown. The name of the local team was called "The Heatherbreezes". The following are a list of teams which played against them. Kilmartin, Dunboyne and Clonee. The footballers played Gaelic.
