  1. Loughshinny is two miles south of Skerries along the coast.
About fifty yards from loughshinny along the cliffs leading to Rush with a big entrance about six feet high and four feet across.
At the left side of the door, there is a window about two feet long and one foot wide.
The cave goes in through solid black rock.
A few years ago a man tried to go up through it but some of it fell down on top of him.
    He never came out again.
Another man went in after him and saw the clay foll on him.
This second man carried a candle, he went in and tried to save the man but the candle went out.
After a time he was gasping.
He just got out of the cave in time.
He told the men outside the cave, that the air was bad.
This cave leads to Baldungin Castle.
Copper, Coal, and Iron was found in the cliffs. There is yellow clay to be seen in patches on the face of the cliffs.
