- Ben-weed
The ben-weed is believed to be the horse of the fairies. It is very unlucky to pull a ben-weed. In olden times many people saw the fairies sitting under the ben-weed on a moonlight night. In the country the old people still believe that the fairies come out on a moonlight and go for a ride on ben-weed. Where ben-weeds are growing the land is always bad.
Dandelion
The name given to the dandelion in the country around Buncrana is pistle bed. When you boil a dandelion and drink the juice it is a good cure for heart-failure. The children of Buncrana make curls out of the flower of the dandelion(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
