   milk. The butter is then ready for use, and the buttermilk is very useful for many things. It is used for baking bread, and for drinking, and for other things.
   Most people do the churning by hand. When a person is churning by hand they churn upwards and downwards with a churnstaff. The keep on churning with the staff until the butter is made. Butter is very useful for putting on the bread. The butter is made into half-pound prints, but some people make it into pound prints.
   In summer the churning is done twice a week, and in winter it is done about once a week.
