    The dogs made a grab at the sack, the cat escaped, and the dogs chased her. Tom and the priest followed. They reached the old lime kiln, but they saw no sign of the cat. They found an old woman sitting up in bed in the kiln but the dogs kept on pawing at the bed. The old woman immediately took the form of a cat again, but the dogs caught her and killed her.
    It was said that this old cat was a witch, who was a long time dead and had come back to revenge [sic] something the Connor family had done on her.
