I have a churn at home. It is about four feet high and six feet wide and its sides are round. It is about six years old.
The parts are the beaters and two handles. There is a cork on the side to leave out the water.
Butter is made once a week in Summer. Strangers who come in during churning help in the making as it was a custom in olden times. The butter is made in about twenty minutes.
The churning is done by hand. When butter is made the churn gets heavy. Water is poured in once or twice while it is making.
Butter is lifted out by means of two butter spades and washed in a little tub three times.
