    Once a month the horse is brought to the forge to be shod. The horseman carries a long piece of iron with him and the smith makes the shoes. When my father is driving the horse you could hear his voice saying "Go on out of that".
    Horses are clipped in the Winter so that they would not sweat. This clipping is done by a machine.
    When a horse is ridden a bridle is put on his head, a saddle is put on his back, a stirrup hangs on each side with an iron for the man's boots on each end. A strap goes back from the horse's head to the saddle to keep the horse's head down.
    When a horse is tackled to a car a collar is used. This collar is tied around the horse's neck and from the collar a pair of traces go to the car.
