- Long ago when the friars were living in Moyne Abbey it is said that one of the Knoxs whose family lived at Rappa Castle stole the bell from the Abbey. The place they were taking the bell to was a long distance from the Abbey and the shortest way to it was by crossing a lake but God spoke first, and when they were crossing the lake the boat capsized and the bell sank to the bottom, so from that day to this the bell was never found. When any of the Knoxs die members of the family hear the bell ringing.
