- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)Straw-boys often made their appearance at these weddings. They were called straw boys because they wore straw and were disguised so that nobody would know them. They asked for certain things drink or food and if they got enough, they danced for a while and then dispersed quietly. But if they are not satisfied they often pl played havoc, causing great inconven-ience to to the wedding party.
In my grandmother's time side-cars were very scarce and it was not uncommon to see the bride and bride-groom going to the Chur Church on horse-back or mule-back to get married. A person who owned a horse was supposed to be well off.
The bride wore a long black cloak which covered from her shoulders almost to her heels and a white lace cap. The bride groom wore(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Faisnéiseoir
