  1. About 40 years ago, James Dowd a native of farrelnacfarrel Dromore West was out cutting hay on his farm. He heard a peculiar screech. He stopped his work and listened. He heard it again & again. He left down his scythe & went in the direction of the screech. There in the meadow he saw a peculiar bird. He stooped down & on examining it more closely he saw it had eight heads. It had four heads in front where the head should be and it had two under each wing. He took it up & went home with it. He placed it under a turf creel & placed a large stone on the top of the creel so that it could not escape. He wished to show this bird to the neighbours in the evening. He went back to his work & when evening came he went to the basket to again examine
