  1. There was a cousin of mine in Camross and wan year he was tormented with rats. The place was full of them, and he could keep nothing in the barn with them.
    There was an ould fellow going around and he was supposed to have a charm of vanish rats. This Rat Charmer come along this day and he asked them to let him hunt the rats. The people were delighted of course and they told him to carry on.
    "Which place are they plentiest?" says the lad.
    "In the barn," says me cousin.
    "Well get a twig for me, a hazel twig if you can get it for a hazel stick is the best"
    Well they brought him the hazel stick and took out to the barn and sat him down
