    Christmas long ago was different to Christmas now.
    They used make a couple of cakes in honour of the feast.
    They also used hang holly and ivy all over the house.
    It is an old saying that if the doors are left open and the fire put out and the floor swept clean that the blessed Virgin visits every house with the Infant Gesus in her arms.
