    It was considered lucky that something shd. be broken at the wedding. If it did not happen accidently, it was done purposely.
    It was not lucky when going to get married to meet a red-haired person.
    It sometimes happened that the marriage took place in the bride's house - perhaps 80 yrs ago
    If a person got married the 2nd time or was very old when married he was "Kettled", - the neighbours collected around the house and beat old tin cans.
    When going to the chapel to get married some 40 or 50 years ago the bride travelled in what was called a "covered car" - one with 2 side seats, each to hold
