- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)few friends used to go an walk the land to see if they were getting value for their money. That part being alright. The next step was the girl's father went to town to pay the money through a solicitor and then the fellow went to buy the ring and then the wedding day was fixed. The day party was held at the bride's house and the parties dinner consisted of a good sumptuous meal of geese, hams and legs of mutton, plenty of drink consisting of stout, whiskey and wine, they had a dance in the barn with violin and concertina music.
In the evening they left to be married and from thence to the bridegroom's house where an enjoyable night was held for the guests.- Bailitheoir
