    place where the contest was taking place Leahy had already jumped 6ft 2in. With a vengeance the Sweeper took of his coat and made for the jump and he cleared 6ft 4 in. As he put on his coat again a shout burst from the crowd. Leahy was very disappointed. The crowd surged around the "Sweeper" and gave him a great ovation. The news arrived home before him and bonfires blazed in very hill.
