  1. Water from blessed wells is also kept in the homes. It is considered a cure for most ailments. In this district there is a blessed well called after St. Kieran of Clonmacnoise, and it is considered that the water from it is very good for the sight. Hence, when people pay visits to it they bring bottles of the water home.
Water is blessed in the churches at Easter time, and it is known as "Blessed water for the crops". This is taken home and used on the crops.
