In olden times St Kierans well was situated in Kilkerin.
One day a woman who was in a hurry to boil potatoes for dinner said she would go to the well ,it being nearer to her than any other well.
She took some water home with her put it in the pot to boil the potatoes but it did not boil them .
Next morning the well was dried up and it was found that it had removed to where it is presently situated. On Holydays a large number of people come to St Kierans well to pray for any request.People have great faith in this well for sore eyes. When people come to the well they wash their eyes, ears hands, face and feet.
